I’ve always been amazed by creative communities. I’m talking about people who are exceptional at what they do and are surrounded by other people who are exceptional at what they do. They do life together, bounce ideas off each other, challenge each other. Is this why Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are so brilliant? Matt Damon and Ben Affleck? Fresh Prince and Jazzy Jeff? Musicians, actors and entertainers, interior designers, wedding industry professionals, chefs…I’m starting to wonder if we’re all better together.
A little over a year ago, my little circle expanded and I joined a group of women, intent on making some of our goals really, truly happen in 2016. Some of us had small businesses, some are stay-at-home moms. Some with kids, most without. Some newly married, some not married. What we had in common was a desire for setting and keeping goals in our lives, seeing change actually happen, getting real about what it was going to take — and many of us happened to be creatives. We met for one year. We saw more things intentionally happen in one year than we ever could have imagined.
Out of our first year together came Pace + Pattern.
Pace + Pattern is a beautiful system, created by my dear friend Allison and beta-tested by our group. It puts all the elements of sustainable goal-setting into practice — habit formation, project planning, daily agenda, and the list goes on. I had the privilege of photographing the final product in time for their official launch at the end of 2016.
You can find out more about Pace + Pattern by watching their video, HERE. But you'll also want to hang around and read some of their blog posts on Less, Please! I have become so curious about practical minimalism. Allison's writing and concepts are fresh and interesting.
