This has been one of my favorite weddings of all time. I'll tell you, there are a lot of hilarious details to how I was even awarded the opportunity to capture Bob + Caroline's wedding...but in the end, I have to say I'm extremely thankful and still get emotional, even just putting this blog post together. It was one of my proudest days, as a photographer and something I'm so incredibly grateful to have been able to capture. So much so, that I've been dragging my feet when it comes to blogging these images, waiting for the words to say about it all.
When I heard they were engaged, I went to Bob, who I knew just enough. I basically made a fool of myself: "I know we don't know each other that well, but you're my favorite kind of people. My ideal clients. I would LOVE to be considered as your wedding photographer." At that point in time, I had NO idea what they were planning for their wedding - I just knew it would be super fun and unique. Now, this does NOT normally happen in the wedding industry. We (wedding professionals) work hard on our images and wait to be asked...but I couldn't with Bob + Caroline. I had watched them via social media, known them through mutual friends and couldn't risk not being considered. They are just that awesome.
Bob laughed at me. Not a cruel, Are you kidding? kind of laugh...but a Are you serious? kind of laugh. He told me they were planning a wedding in South Carolina at a chapel on a cliff and would I even want to travel down there for the wedding. I about fell over.
So, the dream began. We did their incredible engagement photos on Mass Ave...we met to talk timeline, we planned, we conquered. So without further ado...
The wedding took place at Glassy Mountain Chapel in Landrum, South Carolina. The chapel sits on an incredible set of cliffs that overlook a sprawling green valley. Not only was the location stunning, but all the beautiful details of the day were so meaningful and well planned. They exchanged letters, gifts and celebrated with their friends every step along the way.
These make me smile so big...
Such a beautiful story, right?! I loved this day. And the best part is still to come!! I need a whole blog post for the reception...so you'll have to come back. And believe me, you won't want to miss it. Every, single part of this day was amazing....
